Mira vos che

Well my companion is now in the hospital because she got her appendix taken out and something went wrong and her stomach hurts all the time and we will know if she needs to have another surgery or not in an hour. It´s so sad. But I know that everything will be okay. She really is so sweet and just the best companion ever. We are having so much fun to be honest. Life is so much better when you get along with your companions jaja.

This week a 7 year old wrote his number on a torn piece of paper and told me to call him. So I might just be staying here in Argentina when I finish the mission…. Jajaja But really this week was sweet. We couldn´t work a ton because my companion was a little sick and didn´t feel too hot but we made an effort every single day to see Federicoooo. And wow do I love the kid. This week he asked us about the mission and how he can serve. And I was a little bit scared to talk about the mission with him to be honest because I didn´t want him to change his mind about getting baptized when we told him that it´s a commandment to serve in the mission for chicos. But he told us that he is ready to start preparing and that he is going to start saving money now. And he even asked us this week if he could just read the books on his own and then we can just ask him questions to see if he knows the lessons because he already knows everything and is getting bored. Jajajja I just want everyone to get to know Federico. AND HE SHAVED HIS GOTE. With out us even saying anything. I couldn´t believe it too be honest. Now everyone in our ward doesn´t know who he is because they all referred to him as the kid with the gote. Jajaja I don’t know how to spell gote.

But really it is just the most amazing thing to be a part of someone’s change. And it all started with a simple invitation to family home evening. It really blows my mind what God can do with such a small act of faith. He can change generations. We can change generations. All it takes is a simple invitation. To change their salvation (that rhymes jaja) I am so grateful for every experience I have had here in the mission. I feel unbelievably blessed and sometimes unworthy of the many blessings I receive every single day and the experiences we have. It’s so amazing to the have the knowledge that we are not only humans here on the earth but children of the most powerful being. And to know that he loves us and knows us more we know ourselves. And he knows us enough to know that we can’t live this life without his help so he sent his son to lead us and guide us and establish his church here on the earth. And that through him, his teachings and his example we can return to the arms of our loving father. And that despite of our many imperfections and weakness he loves us and wants us to return to him.  All we have to do is turn to him and trust in him and he will turn our weaknesses into strengths. He will lift us and help us become stronger e v e r y t i m e we fall. It honestly blows my mind all that he can do and has done for me in my life. And it just makes me so grateful to know that I can give him a tiny portion of all that he has given me in this short time.

2 Nefi 2;24 Pero he aquí, todas las cosas han sido hechas según la sabiduría de aquel que todo lo sabe.

Sometimes we don´t understand why things happen or why we are who we are. But there is not a doubt in my mind that God has a perfect plan. That every detail of our lives, every hardship, every heartbreak, every downfall, every joyful moment happens for a reason. Because we are children of a father who knows all. And has all knowledge. And knows all that we need. And no, we can´t comprehend all things. But if we can just put our trust in the Lord we can let this perfect plan take place in our lives. I know my Savior lives. I know my Heavenly Father loves his Children.

Tune in next week

Transladoooos babbbayyyyy

Well I am staying here in Oran and my new companion is… CHILENA!!!! And I am so pumped because we have almost the same time in the mission and we are going to start this tranfers SPRINTING and end SPRINTING. Literally because our area is 20 minutes from our apartment jajaja. But I am so excited for a fresh start. This week two people in our area died and it is probably the saddest thing. One of them was an aunt of a family that recently started coming back to church and the other was Tania. She is like 25 years old and got diagnosed with a really bad cancer she has just recently been through the temple with  her recently baptized husband and Friday night she passed away. So crazy. Breaks my heart. But we talked to her husband on Sunday at church and he was so sweet and so humble and so grateful that his wife could finally rest from all of her pain that she was dealing with from cancer. Life is so fragile. SO FRAGILE. And thats why we have to make the best of every single moment we have here.

This week was my last week with Hna Bohorquez. And we had a ton of divisiones with the members and we worked so hard. And we saw so many miracles. I really feel unbelievable blessed to be here in the mission and learn all that I am learning. This past transfer was one of my hardest transfers in the mission. So many things happened and I learned so so so much. One of the biggest thing that I learned is from Alma 24. When the they decided to let go of their weapons and go into battle. Because they had faith in our Heavenly Father that he would lead them and guide them. And as they did so their enemies could recongnise their faith and they too let go of their weapons became converted unto the Lord. Así es. And thats when you really know you have been converted unto the Lord. When you can let go of all the bad. When you can let charity over rule your pride and you  can let God take control of your life. When we can let go of the words and actions that men would use and put ourselves in our saviors shoes. And talk and walk in the way that he walked. That is when we can find true happiness. That is when we are TRULY converted unto the lord and we have real power. Not power as the world would give but godly power. God is litterally at ourside. And he is hear everystep of the way. He is the only real way we can find happiness. And I am so grateful to have this knowledge. I know that he will truly never forget us. Because we are engraved on his hands. And we are engraved in his heart.

I know that God lives. I know that he loves me and he has a perfect plan. :)))))

Princess Jenna

Live from good ol´Oran Argentina

Well after we wrote home last week we went to the doctor because my foot was really swelled up and then……… this whole week I sat in a hospital bed. Jajajja I guess I am allergic to some type of mosquito here. And no one called me princess but I sure felt like a princess. People made food for me all day and catered to my every need and I made a lot of doctor friends. But if anything it just made me so much more grateful to be a missionary here in Argentina. Not going to lie somedays I just feel like wow… I still have SEVEN more months. How? But after not being able to work for an ENTIRE week I feel so ALIVE and I just want to talk to every living creature here in Oran.

Federicoooo is still tip top and is preparing for his baptism and we are pumped. He is seriously the sweetest kid. He comes to church after working for 5pm to 5am with breakfast in hand ready to be spiritually edified and it just makes my heart happy. I love seeing changes in these people. It really amazes me what God can do with something so simple. How he has always worked through small things to make a big impact. When I was in the hospital I decided that I was going to read the whole book of Mormon. But that dream se fue when every single member here came to visit. But I still had the chance to read a ton and it really helped me realize how lucky we are to have the Book of Mormon. To have this guide in these times of trouble.  To know that if we will follow the counsel and direction that we receive from this book we have the power to do anything.

1 Nefi 17: 50 Y les dije: Si Dios me hubiese mandado hacer todas las cosas, yo podría hacerlas. Si me mandara que dijese a esta agua: Conviértete en tierra, se volvería tierra; y si yo lo dijera, se haría.

Through this sacred book we have power. So many times we get lost and we feel like we have so much to do and so little time. But we forget that God is a simple God. That he doesn´t expect us to run faster than we can handle. He doesn´t expect us to be the people that we are not. That every answer we need is simply through him. I love reading about Lehi and family because we can really see that it is only through small and simple things that the Lord helps us find our way. That he guides us to where we need to be. All we need to do is have faith in him.

Happiness is in our hands. We make our own choices and we decide to take part in this perfect plan and follow this perfect course or not. I love the mission. I love knowing of the restored gospel and helping others knows the same. I love knowing that my heavenly father loves us enough to give us a guide book that I can read and hold in my hands anytime I want. I just hope everything is fine and dandy in good ol´Utah. I love you all and miss u

Kancles

Ya know when your ancle is the size of your thigh and it just doesn´t feel right? Well mosquitos are real and love me. And my foot is so swollen hahaha and I am walking like an old lady #perksofthemission. But this week we had a ton of sucesses so I literally could care less about my thunder kancles lolzzzzz. Jajajajja.

But this week was just dandy. I could litterally write a ten page letter just to describe all that I have learned in these past few weeks. We have this stellar investigador names Federicoooooo. I love him. He has a huge gote and long hair and doesn´t talk very much but we love him. We found him knocking doors and invited him to Family Home Evening and now he comes to every activity and is so sweet. And he fixes our bikes for free…. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK. I really love this area. We are in a rama not yet a ward but we only need 5 more people to attend church to be a ward and we are determind to find these five saints.

If there is anything I am truly learning here in the mission it is the power of humility and power of meekness.

“Meekness is vital for us to become more Christlike,” Elder Ulisses Soares. Without it we won’t be able to develop other important virtues. Being meek does not mean weakness, but it does mean behaving with goodness and kindness, showing strength, serenity, healthy self-worth, and self-control.”2 As we work to develop this attribute, we will find that “humbly submitting our will to the Father brings us the empowerment of God—the power of humility. It is the power to meet life’s adversities, the power of peace, the power of hope, the power of a heart throbbing with a love for and testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ, even the power of redemption.”

“If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.

“For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you” (John 13:14–15).

We literally have a power when we can over run our pride through the atonement of Jesus Christ. When we can stop looking for the falts in others, when we can accept their differences and weeknesses and when we can have patience when someone doesn´t act the way that we would have desired or when we can resist the feelings of being offended, we can really progress. We can really become children of our heavenly father. as Nefi said “I know that HE loveth his children” all our Heavenly father wants for us in this life is eternal happiness and we can only find it through following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. And serving our fellow men. Así es.

I can ride my bike witttt no handle bars

I can ride my bike witttt no handle bars

I love the mission with all my heart. I love the good and I even love the bad. It´s really so amazing how one´s life can change when we drop everything and put our Heavenly Fathers will before our own. It’s so amazing to me how well his plan really works. That we have a God “without end” with “all power” and with “all knowledge”. HOW LUCKY ARE WE.

The work here in Oran has been pretty dry. So we have been really focusing on helping the members and really really earning their trust. We have been helping Valeria. She is a mom of 5 children. 4 boys and one little girl. She was listening to the missionaries for so long but couldn´t get baptized because her husband didn´t want to get married and didn´t want to listen to the missionaries. And finally, after years of denying the missionaries he final decided to listen. So the missionaries set up an appointment and when they arrived to the house Valeria came out side and told them that out of the blue her soon to be husband had passed away due to some strange heart problem. And so she was left widowed with her 5 kids but was able to get baptized and is a faithful member ever since.

She literally is the sweetest human but has so much to do and has noooo money. And when we visit her the spirit is always so strong. We have been helping her clean her house a couple times a week because she is really stressed and needs help and this past week we stopped by and she came to us with tears in her eyes and told us that she doesn´t have any money and she doesn´t have any food to feed her children and she was praying and praying to our heavenly father for some kind of help and when she finished her prayer out of the blue the bishop showed up at the door with the things that she needed in that moment. And then right after we showed up to help her out. It really amazes me how faithful the people are here. They don´t even have money to feed their children or to buy shoes for their feet but they can still have the brightest smile on their face and continue forward with faith never doubting our Heavenly Father. It really blows my mind to be honest.

Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

I know that God gives the heaviest loads to his strongest children and we can´t even comprehend the blessing we will receive after these tribulations but until then we have to realize that is only in and through him that we can find happiness that we can reach our goals, and that we can become who we need to be. He is our only source of true and everlasting happiness. And all we need to work according to his will.

“When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives. Our love of the Lord will govern the claims for our affection, the demands on our time, the interests we pursue, and the order of our priorities. We should put God ahead of everyone else in our lives.” Ezra Taft Benson

I know these things 2 b tru. I love the mish mish. I love my argentinos and I love my Heavenly Father. I am so grateful to know of this perfect plan he has for us. Enjoy Café Rio and Acai bowls and mountains (tears)
